toast and jam and tea for dinner

This morning I met my pretty friend Emily at the local farmer's market.  Now here's a little word about farmer's markets: they contain everything good and pleasant you could wish to find on a sunny, saturday morning.  I arrived empty handed and left with delicious treasures. A nice Italian sold me a loaf of kalamata olive bread.  An enthusiastic young gentleman sold me some homemade hummus and pita chips.

...But joy and wonder ultimately took form in a mason jar full of fresh blackberry jam sold to me by a woman who must be an angel, for that jam was the most heavenly delicious thing I've ever tasted. Oh my gosh. I kind of want to eat it with a spoon. Mmmm..

Thank goodness for homemade products, and the willing, talented individuals who provide them.
